The setup uses
- 50w Plant Light
- CO2 diffusion through ceramic ring
- Hang-on side filter (bio & mechanical filter)
- Nutrients for plant using Seachem series (Nitrogen, Iron, Phosphorous, Flourish, Flourish Excel, Equilibrium)
Lighting is on for 6hrs daily. A common problem with plant tank is algae growth (usually brush algae, green spot, green hair algae), which is mainly due to nutrients and lighting imbalance. So far, the best way to resolve this problem is to introduce ramhorn snail into the aqua community. I have tried Siamese Algae Eater (SAE), Otocinclus and yamato. Overall, they are not really helpful. Water change is conducted weekly with 10% water replacement. Currently, my tank condition is quite stable with a handful of newly hatched guppy fry swimming around.
