Poor response from citibank help desk

Recently, I requested for waiver for my credit card annual subscription fee, the staff said that the request is sent out and the relevant department will contact me next working day.

I waited for 2 working weeks for the Citibank call  on this matter. Seriously, a week is acceptable. 2 weeks!!! I do not understand how come it takes so long for Citibank to respond to customer request. Previously, when i requested for waiver, it is instantaneous.

Personally, I cannot comprehend the way they handle the request. From my understanding, they are able to approve annual waivers using their help desk system, why do they need to route the request to relevant department to handle? Personally, I prefer UOB call centre style on handling waiver request, you have to key in your credit card number and you will receive an sms on the waiver status the next working week. Simple and straight-forward.
