WordPress upgrade error

Posted on | November 13, 2009 | No Comments

If upgrading wordpress blog is not successfully, a message will keep appearing when you access your blog; “Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute.

The reason is WordPress creates “.maintenance” file before starting the upgrading process, should it complete the process, the file will be deleted automatically. However, if the upgrading process is unable to complete promptly, WordPress will not delete the “maintenance” file in the root folder of your blog.

When that happens; the message will keep appearing prevent you to access the blog content.

To resolve this problem, login your ftp server and remove “.maintenance” file your blog root folder.

Hope it solves the problem.
