iPad coming to Singapore

Apple iPad (without 3G version) is launching in Singapore late next month at a price tag of S$699.

Looking at the price tag, not only the eReader market will be affected, the mobile netbook market will lightly be affected too. Personally, comparing both Apple iPad and X brands of netbook, I definitely will go for Apple iPad. It is a Apple thing.

Anyway, for iPad, unlike iTouch, I will wait for Apple to launch its 2nd gen release before owning it.

Following Apple marketing trend of their products, the 2nd Gen will usually be much better, less buggy and high processing power, probably at an even cheaper price tag.

Well, let’s wait and see.

LG GM730 Problems

Ever since I started using LG GM730 aka LG Eigen/ LG Joy, I am faced with a series of problems both hardware and software; deteriorating my confidence in using Windows Mobile and LG even further.

First and foremost, I thought iPhone battery life is short; LG GM730 is worst, it drain around 20% – 25% of my battery life in an hour when I am reading news. To better conserve battery, I removed ALC and reduced the backlight to maximum. It works perfectly with my old O2 XDAIIs, however it does not work on this fone.

To make the matter worst, the User Interface sucks… I prefer using LG XT9 keypad input, but everytime I restart the device, it will definitely change to Letter Recognition Input which is something I hate to use (slow and error prone). Besides getting irritated by the input, I am also quite disappointed with the multi-tasking capability. It becomes apparent to me that the advertisement is more or less gimmick. I switched on a few applications in the background, when I have an incoming call, the whole system hanged so bad that I have to remove the battery in order to restart. It happens so many times…

Another problem I found out is the free browser Skyfire which have many positive reviews, actually converts my fone into a heat pack for my muscle sores. I have checked with other brands of Win mobile devices, seems like it happens only on my fone.

Come to think of it! It’s Windows. What can I expect from Microsoft, the same buggy problems since I started using Win mobile 2003. My next fone definitely WILL NOT BE Windows.

Rainy weather, nice place to chill out during the afternoon. Pop by the place with Jas for dessert; since we craving for ice cream! Oh yeah!

Tried Waffle with Ice cream (Nuttella) and Alcohol Latte (Can’t remember the exact name) shake. Both is a must try. The Waffle is nice and sweet, together with the ice cream brings out the rich creamy taste. The shake is thick and rich with Latte ice-cream, one of the best ice-cream shake in town.

Sharks, I don’t know what have I munched to suffer a day on bed and have 13 runs in toilet plus vomitting. Count that lucky on the 3rd day of Lunar New Year.

To make it worst, there are no clinics islandwide opened to attend to patients like me, so in the end I went to Tan Tock Seng (TTS) A&E Clinic.

The service rendered by the TTS has improved over the years, shorten waiting time, more efficient service and process flow. Of course, not forgetting about inflation, now it cost $85.

Given a choice, I definitely won’t want to admit to hospital as I really hate to see needles poking into my body… Give me creeps…

Just cleared my 2285B Managing Windows Server 2003 Environment, Exam 70-290 this morning at New Horizons, Prometric Testing Centre.

Luckily for me, I manage to scrap through the paper with the help from braindumps provided from examcollection. Currently, the braindumps by TestInsider is valid, out of 40 questions, 22 came out from it.

Now focusing on 3 more papers, hopefully, to clear all before my Hong Kong trip.

Trying out New Milk Tea

After a long afternoon looking at the books, I decided to pop by 7-eleven.

Browsing through the drink section, a new nice drink packaging from Taiwan caught my attention, it’s Belgium Chocolate Milk Tea. The packaging definitely stands out from the typical rest. In addition, there is a cute cartoon strip by the side of the bottle.

As I am Starhub Hubber, I get to change mobile phone annually.

After browsing through the models, I decided to get LG GM730 (LG JOY), which runs on Windows Mobile 6.1. It has wide 3” LCD panel that enhance surfing,
touch screen interactivity.

The features of LG Joy as follow:

Connectivity: 3G/HSDPA/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth
GPS
5MP Camera
LG S-Class UI (A Home Screen Widget built on Windows Mobile)
Display: 240×400pixels, 3”/ 65K Colors/ TFT Screen

As I was a previous Windows Mobile user, I realised that the common thing that does not change through the versions is Windows Mobile still hang easily; to make it worst, I need to hard reset the device.

Comparing it with other Windows Mobile device, it is quite responsive when interacting with its UI. It provides quite a wide set of applications including MS Office Mobile and widgetized Calendar, Email and Messages.

One cool features I like about windows mobile is its multi-tasking capability, I realised that iPhone OS cannot multi-task, not sure about Android though.

Just catch Daybreakers this evening at Cathay AMK Hub.

It is another Vampires flick of a different perspective. This time round, the cause is from a plague. The world become vampire domination, with less than 5% human population left. The only hope for vampire survival is to find a blood substitute or a cure.

Nice bloody movie with a good storyline!
