Securing WordPress blog

One of the important aspect of setting up wordpress blog, is about securing the blog from being compromised.
Being a victim of phisher, I come to understand the importance of securing my blogs as well as doing regular backup as a preventive measures.
Some of the best plugins I used to enhanced my blog security:
Blog Privacy and Protection
- Stealth Login – Create custom URL’s for logging in, logging out and registering for your WordPress blog. This prevent other users will gaining access to your blog account through accessing wp-login.php directly.
- Lockdown Login – Limits the number of login attempts from a given IP range within a certain time period. This prevent other users will using a script to try to access your blog.
- Admin SSL – Secures any WordPress URL using Private or Shared SSL.
- SI CAPTCHA Anti-Spam – Captcha to prevent scripts from spamming
Blog Backup
- WP-DB-Backup – On-demand backup of WordPress Database.
Blog Security Check
- WP Security Scan – Scans your WordPress installation for security vulnerabilities.
- Antivirus – Protects the blog from virus
Other than securing your blog, ensure that the hosting account is updated regularly to prevent your account from being compromised. Perform daily, weekly or monthly backup and scan for virus regularly.

Free Tix for Resident Evil – After Life (3D)

I was surprised to see tweets from Sony Pictures giving away free tickets for Resident Evil – After Life (3D). I was thinking why not? Try my luck. Since I am keen to watch the new episode of Resident Evil Series.
Surprisingly, I was chosen as one of the winners! Wow! Probably my ladies luck has returned. Thanks Sony Pictures.
The show is held on 7 Sep 10, from 1910 onwards. The only troublesome thing is we need to deposit all our gadgets before entering the theatre, i.e. no phones of any kind, no mp3 players, of course no vcam or cameras. However, what impressed me is the kind of service Cathay Cineplex render to their customers. Not only the deposit is done in an orderly manner, the return of the gadgets after the show is fast and orderly, nearly no queue at all.
Thumbs up for Cathay Cineplex.
After Life (3D) has one of the Best 3D play, after “Avatar”, “How to try your dragon” and “Despicable Me”. In addition, to the standard flicks of zombies, this time round, there are new zombie mutations, better CG play. The show is more of a thriller, action packed, showing Alice doing different stunts than a horror movie. The storyline is a typical Resident Evil tag… Definitely a good watch for fan goers.
Windows Phone 7 – Revolution

Caught sight of the new advertisement that Microsoft is launching on their new Windows Phone 7 OS. Such a bold, mysterious attempt, with a catch phrase “the REVOLUTION is coming…”
Not very hopeful and confident after so many fruitless attempt in their previous Mobile versions. Oh well, enjoy the clip…
