After twitter updated their site on 31 August 10, I have problem getting my plugin to update my twitter feed on my blog. Probably, it will be down for a while, until there is a patch for lifestream to modify their twitter API interfacing.
My tweets is still accessible through the twitter site: @iFinity
Beware of Facebook scam
Posted on | August 12, 2010 | No Comments
Beware and be careful! Try not to be too trustworthy to the new friends you made online, they may not even exist.
SINGAPORE: Social networking sites have increasingly become a prowling ground for cheats.
At least five men in Singapore found out the hard way, after they were conned of over S$1,500 in total.
The men were approached through Facebook by a “Nicole Tay”, who appealed to them for help with her rent.
“Nicole” disappeared after getting the money.
When the victims went to where “Nicole” lived, they were told by the flat owner that the girl never existed.
The victims are in their 20s, and a few have made police reports.
When contacted, three of them said they agreed to lend “Nicole” money as they had never encountered an online cheat before.
One of them said: “At first, she didn’t mention money. We talked normally as friends. One day, she said her landlord was going to kick her out. She also said she was from Hong Kong and somehow that made it more believable. So I gave her S$50″.

Android User: Virus Alert
Posted on | August 12, 2010 | No Comments
For all droid users, beware! A new virus that disguise itself as a media player application is sending costly text messages without the users’ consent.
SAN FRANCISCO : Mobile security firm, Lookout, on Tuesday warned that a booby-trapped Movie Player application is infecting Android phones in Russia with a virus that sends costly text messages.
Russia-based Kaspersky Lab discovered the malicious “Trojan” code hidden in a media player application people are enticed to download onto smartphones.
“The new malicious program penetrates smartphones running Android in the guise of a harmless media player application,” Kaspersky said in a blog post.
“The Trojan uses the system to begin sending SMSs to premium rate numbers without the owner’s knowledge or consent, resulting in money passing from a user’s account to that of the cybercriminals.”
The Trojan has apparently only affected handsets operating on Google-backed Android software in Russia.
The Media Player program does ask users to authorize “services that cost you money” prior to installation, according to Lookout, which advised people to protect themselves by refusing to grant such permission.
“With the discovery of this new Android Trojan, it is more important than ever to pay attention to what you’re downloading,” Lookout said.
“Stay alert to ensure that you trust every app you download”.

Setting up your Prawn Rod
Posted on | August 10, 2010 | 2 Comments
Being surfing the net for good information on setting up a personal prawn rod, however, there aren’t much information pertaining to this topic. More or less quite difficult to source a comprehensive information.
Therefore, I will consolidate my findings in my blog, to give the prawning newbie hobbyists some head start in choosing their rod, line, float and hook.
Usually, if you purchase your rod at Prawning pond, the staff will assist you in setting up your rod. However, the accessories they have may not meet your needs, which in a way, may reduce the number of catches.
Rod
- In terms of rod, it comes in variety of sizes and length, personally, if you prawn in different places, choose a extensible one. As different prawn pond has different size and different depth, with an extensible rod, you are able to extend your rod based on the pond size. In my case, I choose a 6ft – 9ft rod.
- The weight of the catch the rod can handle is also important. Probably, a 3kg – 5kg should be good.
Line
- I realised that there are alot of line with different lbs and thickness available in the market. For those who are not keen to change their lines often due memory (line started to curl up), go for braided line. Braided line does not have memory i.e. stretchless, thus it does not curl up easily. However, braided line is generally opaque in the water, i.e. it is visible to prawn, thus, it is usually used as a leader, with the end commonly attached with monofilament.
- Keeping the line is easy, you just need to use 2 cable ties on your rod, and coil the line around it.

Float
- There are a variety of floats available and in different sizes and shape.
- Personally, I prefer the oval shaped float with a stick point up and down.
- As for the size for the float, although the recommended size is 8, I suggest if you used a size 6 float, it will be more sensitive to bites.
- There are different size of hooks available, depending on your preference. For me, I use a small size hook, so far it is quite effective in my catch.
